Support & FAQ
Answers to the common questions. Still stuck? Email support@run4it.app — include your account email and your device model.
Getting started
How do I create an account?
Open RUN4IT, tap Start Running, and sign up with email, Google, or Apple. Email/password sign-ups need to verify their address before finishing onboarding — check your inbox (and spam) for the link.
I didn't get the verification email.
Wait a minute and check spam. On the verify screen you can resend it. Still nothing after a few minutes? Email us and we'll verify you manually.
What does onboarding ask for, and why?
Your name (how your crew sees you), home city (to personalise the app), height/weight/gender (to estimate calories accurately), the drink you're running for, your goal-tracking window, and optionally notifications and a photo. You can change all of it later in Profile.
Tracking runs
How do I record a run?
From the home screen tap the big RUN4IT button, allow location when asked, and start moving. Distance, pace, time and calories update live. Tap stop when you're done, pick the drink you earned, and save it to your history.
Does it track in the background / with the screen off?
Yes — while a run is active, tracking continues if you lock the phone or switch apps. It stops when you end the run. Make sure RUN4IT has "Always" (iOS) / background location and battery optimisation turned off (Android) for the most accurate routes.
My route looks jagged or my distance seems off.
GPS accuracy depends on your device, sky visibility, and how quickly the phone gets a fix. Starting outdoors and waiting a few seconds before you move helps. Tall buildings and tunnels cause zig-zags. If a run's distance is clearly wrong, email us the date and we'll take a look.
Can I edit or delete a run?
Open the run from History. You can delete it there. To correct stats on a run, contact support.
Earned drinks
How does "drinks earned" work?
RUN4IT estimates the calories you burned on a run (based on your weight, pace and distance) and divides by the calories in the drink you picked. So a longer or faster run "earns" more. It's a fun way to see your effort — there's nothing to redeem.
Where do the beers, wines and cocktails come from?
Live lookups from Untappd (beer), Vivino (wine) and TheCocktailDB (cocktails), including real label and bottle images. Search for your go-to in the picker.
How do I change my favourite drink?
Profile → tap Favorite drink, or the edit (pencil) button → search and pick a new one. It'll be pre-selected on your next run.
Streaks & badges
How does the streak work?
Run on consecutive calendar days (your local time) and the streak grows by one each day. Two runs on the same day don't add to it. Skip a day and the streak resets to 1 on your next run. Your dashboard shows the streak only if your last run was today or yesterday — otherwise the chain is broken.
How do I earn badges?
Automatically. Badges unlock the moment a run pushes you past a milestone — first run, 10/50/100 runs, 26.2 / 100 / 500 lifetime miles, single runs of 5K / 10K / half-marathon, 3 / 7 / 30-day streaks, running before 6am or after 9pm, and 10 drinks earned. You'll see a celebration, and every badge lives on your Profile.
I have old runs but no badges for them.
The first time you open a recent version, RUN4IT replays your full history and awards any badges you'd already earned (without the pop-ups). If your shelf still looks wrong, email support and we'll re-run it.
Goals
What are the goal-tracking periods?
Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, or Total. The home-screen goal card and the "this week / month / year" stats all follow whichever you pick. "Total" shows a lifetime tally with no reset.
How do I change my goal or the period?
Profile → Goal Tracking. Switch the period with the segmented control; set the distance target with the slider. It updates the home screen immediately. Changing the period never affects your logged runs — it's just the lens.
My goal bar resets — did I lose progress?
No. Progress is always "distance in the current period". At the start of a new week/month/year the bar simply starts from zero against the same runs. Every run stays in your History forever, and your lifetime total is on your Profile.
RUN4IT Pro & billing
What do I get with Pro?
RUN4IT Pro removes all ads and supports development. Every other feature is free — Pro is not a feature paywall.
How much is it and how is it billed?
One auto-renewing yearly subscription, billed by Apple or Google at the price shown on the Pro screen for your region. It renews automatically until you cancel.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Subscriptions are managed by the store, not by us:
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → RUN4IT → Cancel.
- Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → RUN4IT → Cancel.
Refund requests also go through Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the current period ends.
I paid but the app still shows ads / doesn't show Pro.
Open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases, then give it a few seconds. Make sure you're signed in to the same App Store / Play account you bought with, and to the same RUN4IT account. If it still doesn't update, email us with your purchase date.
Promo codes
How do I redeem a promo code?
Profile → Go RUN4IT Pro → Have a promo code? → type the code → Redeem. Codes are case-insensitive. A valid code grants a stretch of free Pro time and shows the date it runs until.
My code says it's invalid, expired, or already used.
- Each code can be used once per account.
- Codes can expire or hit a redemption limit.
- You can't stack a promo on top of a paid App Store / Play subscription.
If you think a code should work, email us the exact code.
Your account
How do I change my name, photo, or body stats?
Profile → edit (pencil) button.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email support@run4it.app from your account address and ask us to delete it. We remove your profile, runs, streak and badges from our active systems. This can't be undone.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes — email support and we'll export your profile and run history for you.
Switching phones — will my data follow me?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on the new device and your profile, runs, badges and settings sync down. Your theme choice is per-device.
Privacy & permissions
Why does RUN4IT need location, contacts, camera, notifications?
- Location — only to record your route and distance during a run.
- Contacts (optional) — to match your phone contacts to people on RUN4IT so you can find your crew.
- Camera / Photos (optional) — a profile picture.
- Notifications (optional) — earned-a-round alerts, streak reminders, new badges.
Every one is optional except location for run tracking, and each is controllable in device Settings. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
Who can see my runs and profile?
Your runs are private to you unless you mark a route as public. Your profile is only discoverable by other users if you turn on "Public profile" in Profile (new accounts start hidden until email is verified).
Crew & chat
How do I find friends?
Crew tab → search by name, or sync contacts to see who's already on RUN4IT. The other person needs "Public profile" turned on to be found.
How do I stop people finding or messaging me?
Profile → turn off Public profile.
Troubleshooting
The map is blank or grey.
Usually a connectivity blip — close and reopen the app. If it persists on Android, make sure Google Play services is up to date.
My stats or badges didn't update after a run.
They're calculated on our servers a beat after you save, then sync to the app. Give it up to a minute and pull back to the home screen. If it's been longer, email us the run date.
The app crashed.
We get anonymous crash reports automatically, but a note from you — what you were doing, your device and OS version — helps a lot: support@run4it.app.
Still need help?
Contact us
Email support@run4it.app. Include your account email, device model, OS version, app version, and — if it's about a specific run — its date. We usually reply within a couple of business days.
